Have Campagnolo rims gotten wider in the last few years?
Moderator: robbosmans
I have a set of Campy Eurus wheels circa 2008 with Continental GP4000S tires. I was at a shop a month or so ago, and saw a set of new Shamals with the same tires. The Contis on the Shamals looked significantly wider and more rounded than those on my Eurus wheels. Was it my imagination or has there been a change?

Not sure about Shamals but I have had several other pairs of campy wheels over the past few years. They seem to remain the same, although they are indeed a bit wider than many brands to begin with.

Good call on the Campy tech documents, I had forgotten about those. In 2007, the section width of the Shamal/Eurus was 20mm. In 2012, the section width was up by 0.5mm to 20.5mm.
Regarding the tires, both mine and the ones installed in the shop were 23c.
