Just had some bad chain suck on a riders frame, they very much would like to continue riding the frame, however wanted to post on here and see what you fine folks thought.

Ride it...it looks fine. But before you ride it get some Lizard Skin leather patches and place them on both the side and underside of your chainstay behind your chainring, then figure out what caused the chainsuck...was it a poorly executed shift? dirty chain? wrong chain length? bent rear der hanger? bent chainring tooth?

I ve seen this before on an sworks frame. No real damage other than esthetic. Needs a k-edge chain catcher.

I would fill in the gouges with clear nail varnish also. It looks to be confined to the cosmetic layer of the carbon.

Sand down and re-spray with clear coat, add frame protectors.

Worse damages than that can be repaired nowadays, no reason to get a new frame.

...a chain catcher is for a avoiding a dropped chain, not chainsuck. EM3

Absolutely.

Very often, dirty chain...

Hardly touched the surface!

Quite often the chainstays are glued over a "lug" which sprouts from the BB and this makes that area VERY thick (and strong) , its hard to tell how far from the BB shell that damage is but I agree it dosn't look bad
