Awesome work! Thanks for letting us know, as I am sure a lot of us may need this information in the future. Hopefully the rack company will make it right and reimburse you.

Most importantly, as this is WW, do you have before and after weights?

If the frame weight has increased, then it is not exactly like it was before it was damaged.

Needless to say ?!?! Not sure I would have. Well done!

That's a little pedantic isn't it? if you're being that picky then the fibres won't be lined up exactly as they were before, even two 'identical' production frames won't be exactly the same.

Looks like a nice bit of work there Juan, I've never heard of those guys before. Web link? Might be handy for our US customers. What did the repair cost you ( if it's not rude to ask :D )

Hmmm. I almost lost my Addict on the freeway under similar circumstances. I ended up having to replace the fork because the drop out severely cracked. I immediately replaced my fork mount racks with Rocky Mounts (very secure). Did the faulty fork mount rack manufacturer begin with 'T'?

Price isn't too bad especially considering the paint and shipping. Thanks for the link.

Glad you were able to get it looking like new again!

What do you mean by complete restoration vs repair? Does it mean repainting vs not repainting?

Also, what is the yellow section in the chain stay? Is that a wax support so that they had a surface to lay the carbon prepreg on? I'm assuming this support is the cause of the weight increase?

@OP: Are there any photographs after those showing the "yellow section" but before the two "back home & repaired" photos as there is nothing in between actually showing how the repair was done?

Juanmoretime wrote:@ SvenNijs I only have the pictures sent to me but I can inquire with Ruckus about some pictures to add of the actual carbon fiber and epoxy being applied to a repair since I do not know if they have any from the repair of my frame.

Thanks. To me, that is the part of the repair that you definitely want photographs of to ensure it was 'done right'.
