The Thrust pedal is a nice looking pedal, but the Ti version has a 180lbs weight limit.

I'm curious about folks experience too. I have what most would call boat anchors (Shimano 105 pedals - same weight as Ultegra, just less pretty and not from Japan - at 321g actual), and wouldn't mind dumping 140g.

Exactly like me.. I have the ultegra sl which weight the same... too much! I weight 70 kg/154 pounds and I think that TI is fine..

I've not used the Xpedo pedal. From what I've read it works great when new, however with only one bearing I question how long that will last. I'm much more comfortable with the three bearing design my Looks incorporate.

I think that this model also has 3 bearings. At least in their webpage it seems so.

And they do have 3 replaceable cart bearings which are arguably better than needle set ups.

The set I've had have worked flawlessly and came in at weight spec. Easy to adjust, float works well.

these guys move more pedals than most probably think.


The Magnesium version are only 109 bucks...

So I'm no engineer but what gives with weight limit on pedal axles , so if a 70kg pro pumps out some massive wattage in a Sprint this is better than an 100kg guy just out for a Sunday ride?

The xpedo's are probably fine. I've been using exustar 200 ti pedals for a few years now with zero issues and those use a plastic bushing. These are probably better.

It's not the wattage that's the problem, it's the entire body weight standing on one pedal while the bike goes over a bump.

I like seeing parts with weight limits. A part made to handle a 100kg rider is overkill for a 65kg one.

I've been on the Xpedo Thrust "195g", very similar build to the Thrust 8Ti, for 1.5 year. They came with Ti spindles, magnesium bodies (if I'm not wrong) and after changing the spring preload bolts for alu ones, they scale showed 188g.
That was a really bargain, I got them for about £40!
Haven't had any problems with them at all. There is no play on the bearings, which, for instance was developed on my other pedals Look Keo Spring which haven't seen even a half of the Xpedo's mileage. Thrusts also look much better after more than twice longer time of use. I'm 200lb.
