1200g build for £370

So I finally got my wheels done, guy building them has weighed them at 1200g.
Planet X carbon tubular 50mm rim rear, 20mm rim front, Token TK520 hubs, DT spokes, Planet X skewers. Total cost came in at £370

Picked them up last night. 1770g with tyres (Corsa CX) and skewers. Photos to follow shortly.

Annoyingly, critical part for the bike build has been out of stock. Still 2 weeks away

To be fair, price was only possible due to ebay win on the hubs
Not that this is cheap weenies, but it would have been a lot cheaper to;
a) build them yourself
b) use ACI DB spokes & alloy nips in appropriate places
You'd of knocked another £100 odd off.
@ TrekUk - Don't knock the planet x low profile rims too hard.
Remember they used to be the rim that formed the F2R FFWD wheelset, which had a much higher price point.
I've heard of some people abusing the hell out of them & then complaining about the rim not holding up too well, but its kinda a fit for purpose, purpose specific type of rim imo.

Your comments on PX rims don't seem to be the general view.

No it wouldn't, because with my level of mechanical competence all that would have resulted in was something broken and still paying someone else to build the wheel properly
