Looking at getting KinLin Nb-r or xr-200 rims but can only find Alchemy in USA stocking them via google.

Seen threads on here where people have said they have used them. Anyone more local to teh UK with these rims?

Looking at getting some 24 hole AC micro front and 28 hole AC RD205 rear laced to these rims with DT Revolution or similar spokes.

Hope someone may be able to help.

Niobium rims like IRD, Halo, SpeedCific, KinLin etc. are all the same rims. KinLin are the only manufacturer to produce Niobium rims but they are sold under many different brands like thes ones mentioned here.

Good links there but I still don't see where you can get the Niobium front and asymmetrical rear in the UK - whatever they call it.

Any ideas?

Why not buy them from US? - I regularly buy my bike equipment from US due to greater range and price competitiveness - in my experience when searching worldwide the US prices are far more competitive that UK/Europe for same items - you would probably be ahead even after shipping and insurance

For an EU citizen it often cheapest to buy bike stuff from e.g. Germany.
You have to add shipping charges + VAT and import taxes to things bought from outside EU.
In general I find the German prices as cheap as US prices, but of course the weak dollar helps make US prices cheaper.
But it also depends what brands you are after. US brands tends to be cheaper bought directly from US, while many other brands aren't.

I am specifically after the xr-200 rim so think it will have to be from the US.

Does KinLin have a website? Could only find this:

Think I may have found an EU supplier. Guess prices are hiugher than in US but by the time shipping and Import Duty/VAT and Royal Mail charge for admin is included US may work out more expensive.

Matty, can you let me know where you get your Kin lin rims from and how the transaction panned out?
I'm always being asked to build with these and constantly have problems getting them in different spoke counts.

I am still after a XR200 rim in 24 hole and a XR200 rim in 28 hole.

I would prefer to buy in Europe as I would end up paying same price as rims cost from US again in Shipping and VAT/Import Duty.

Still looking for XR-200 rims in Europe or somewhere cheap shipping to UK if outside of EU.

Also are there any newer versions from KinLin imminent?

I've used the Halo Mercury on track hubs before and they were nice. Not incredibly stiff however and not sure how much tension they'll take. Even at £50 each I'm too skint to experiment.

I'm not convinced of the 'aero' effect either - this is a complete laymans view here but I don't get anything other than a sore back from deep alloy or carbon rims. And that slows me down!

Better with the good old Excellence or Open Pros I reckon.

I bought my kimlin at "; in usa, ship them to europe. very nice prices. better than xx-lightbikes in germany, but them calculate shipping and possible custom fees and do waht is better for you. on ebay you can find them sometimes too. good luck.
