sram xg1090 vs DA 7900 cassette

In addition to the poor shifting of my recon alloy cassette, it now skips suddenly under heavy accelerations; not exactly confidence inspiring. So I need a replacement that preferably lasts longer than 2000 miles. New sram red looks nice, lighter than DA even though it's made of steel/alloy as opposed to ti/steel. Can anybody comment of the durability of this cassette? Is it still loud as balls? Anybody weigh an 11-26 new sram?

i have both cassettes but in 11-28 and i can tell you that i do not think the xg is loud. I put both of them on the scale and there is about a 24-27 gram difference between the two, i can remember but it is in the 20's. i have the xg with the new reds and it is 154grams and the DA with the DA. i think DA is a smoother action going from cog to cog. I cant tell you what one last longer as i have only been able to put 800miles on both but there is some tooth scaring in the 28 tooth cog of the xg.
I have the XG1090 in 11-23 and 11-28. They weighed 133g and 160g respectively. I find them to be extremely quiet. I basically have no drivetrain noise now.
I don't have enough miles on either to assess durability but for what it's worth I have put over 5000 miles on some older Red cassettes and they still shift well. I can only imagine it would be the same case for the new ones. The largest cog is aluminum for the new cassettes but I rarely use that cog.

I recently purchased the xg1090 in 11-26. It weighs 149g with lock ring on my scale. The og1090 in 11-26 it replaced weighs 166g on the same scale. I haven't used it yet so I can't comment on your other questions on longevity or noise.

My tuned OG1090 11-28 is pretty damn quiet, light, and affordable.
Way more affordable than the 7900 cassette, a fraction of the XG1090, durable, quiet, unique.
Just a hint.

You'll find the graphic in the thread in one of my posts. If you'd like the original PDF version, I can send that to you by e-mail (send pm).
Acetone will take off the backplate, use a strong aluminum/steel bonding glue to put it back on.

Bit the bullet and bought an open box xg-1090 11-26 cassette from treefortbikes in Michigan. It weighs in at 148g with the lockring.

I got plenty of miles on my last OG -1090 11-26 cassette. I was actually quite impressed with how long it lasted - about 15,000 miles. I never weighed it though.
I did find that it tended to work better with Sram chains.
