I've got a couple of these. Here are the actual weights of both of them.
Cheers,

FSA Gossamer BB30 Crank (170mm) 773
FSA Gossamer BB30 Crank (175mm) 790

The weight difference is surprising considering FSA typically just drills the pedal hole at different places for on the same length arm.

Interesting. I never thought about that. I just assumed the arms are longer. If I get motivation I'll compare chain rings and the the hole location to account for this difference. ;-)

People complain about it because it shifts like a steaming pile of horsesh*te

But I guess if you change that rings it may not be that bad...

The variance is most likely due to weighing with and without chainrings.....

I can't really understand why people dump on these so much. In a way I'm happy because I picked up 2 sets (pulled off new bikes, bit used) for about $50! I sold my Ultegra crank, pulled the BB30 adapter and only suffered a 6 gram penalty, pocketed the difference. I've never noticed lousy shifting or anything, but it's not like I'm shifting around much up front.

Was that a 6700 crank you replaced?

The Gossamer has a solid reputation for shifting performance, unusual for FSA. It's weight may discourage some tho'

I've actually had pretty decent shifting from mine. I'm still likely going to upgrade to Praxis rings, but it's not a pressing upgrade at the moment.
