I like them. But obviously I've not been using them for long. Pedalling seems smooth and natural. I don't notice them, which I guess is a good thing.

I'm thinking about getting a 56T for my Sram Red Quarq compact setup.

1) Will the "minibike" fit correctly with the road crankset ?

2) Is there something special prior to use other than doing the zero offset with these rings ?

Where do you see such a creature as a 56T compact Road doval chainring http://edoval.com/about-store? Or did you have a typo or inadvertently post in the wrong thread?

2) Yes, accept that your Quarq will provide inaccurate data when in the non-round doval chainring.

I fixed the link above. What you are looking at is listed under "Single" at http://edoval.com/about-store rather than under Road. Does that mean it can not be used in a double chainring configuration? I defer to the chainring expert, Stephen.

I guess it can work, even if it doesn't have any machined ramps, no pins, and it's made for a larger chain...
I won't put any effort in trying to fit it to a PM road setup...

The minivelo ring doesn't have the OCP adjustment of the standard rings. (or ramps/pins). But It should be 10s compatible.

As has been mentioned, your Quarq will over-read slightly with Doval/Q/O-sym rings. If you want to compare outputs across different setups this may be a problem for you. If you just want consistency for training, then it's not a problem.

I have just got myself some DOval Light chainrings with OCP adjustmens. Don't have an exact idea how to set them up, but I have just put them in the middle position and mounted them on the bike.

Personally, I've given up on them.

For TTs I thought they were good. But for general riding, including my daily stop-start commute, I prefer round.

I just ordered some on ebay, for both road and MTB, 50t/36t and 32t semi-narrow/wide, all in the 16% (max) ovality option. For the price, they are worth a shot, and they are pretty versatile in the BCD so they could be re-purposed to another bike or sold without much issue. Their listings offer discounts for purchasing multiple items, however I am having a bit of a hassle getting them to send me a correctly updated invoice that includes the promised discounts. I don't think there is any mal-intent, just a little language barrier or poor communication perhaps.

I'll give an update once I receive them, although the shipping will be slow from South Korea to the USA, so it will be a little while.
