Now- if anyone is running second gen EE brakes with 7970 levers and Firecrest 404 could they give a brief opinion on their function?

i've been running eebrakes with 7970 for a few years. they are fantastic. they might have slightly less power than DA brakes with those levers, but i find they are PLENTY powerful. i also like the modulation of the eebrakes better. i feel that overall there is a very, very small performance drop from DA to eebrakes, if any, and the weight savings is substantial in weight weenie terms.

i have used them with firecrest rims -- and i also switch between FC, zipp 101s, and narrower rims like ambrosio nemesis. no problems that cannot be solved by a few turns of the barrel adjusters.
