I bought a used front wheel with this rim about a year ago. It was a 20 hole with anAm. classic, I'm Am. Classic Am. Classic micro 58 hub. The guy I bought it from used it for Track racing. He said the rim was also Am. classic. I'm not sure about that I don't think they made a 25 mm. rim. I made the rim into a 16 hole, it worked out that I think 3 holes of the 20 hole pattern were able to be used, the other holes I drilled new. after some work I got the rim down to 186 grams. 47 grams for 16 Pillar Ti. spokes, the M5 hub, with a carbon axel, is 25 grams. 5 grams for 16 alloy nipples, and minimal glue, it comes to 265 grams. I have a 108 gram Tufo Track tire that I used on a few short rides during the past three months, and a heavier Vittoria for longer rides to really test out the wheel. The wheel is very strong, no problems with some good hard rides.

I am a little confused. Is it an American Classic carbon or magnesium rim? Could you post another close up picture of the rim?

Juanmoretime, I have met a number of WW's through the years, and yes if your out here we could go for a ride together. This wheel is pushing the limits, but it is strong. I'm not sure how well it would do against a big pot hole at speed, also I only weigh 140 lbs. I will let WW know if I have any problems but I don't plan to put a lot of miles on it each month. I like to try pushing the limits, but I don't think that I do ant thing crazy.

Very very light wheel. But I can only think it would be only good for a training wheel, or a +6% hillclimb timetrial wheel, or a wheel for a record ww bike 8) . Any other application would make it inferior due to aero :/

I guess I have no point, lol! This is ww afterall :D
