MTB hubs has 32or 28 holes - too many for road bike

Wich hubs will be the best for that kind of wheelset?

Also I'd imagine front radial spoke lacing would not be a good idea with hub disc brakes. Also a higher spoke count maybe needed.

yes it is new chapter on road scene.
found novatec CX hubs - 130mm rear wide and 24,28 holes
Front lacing 2x or 3x

24 spokes on front (2 x cross) and 24 spokes on rear

I've had the same problem, best rims are 24h max which seems to be a minimum for disk use. White industries seem to be the best option for a 24h hub but they are really heavy. It's not clear what hubs Reynolds and Easton are using in their factory wheels (also 24h). Otherwise enve do a 28h rim but not in the SES.

Circus Monkey are also good options, and with the weight, are great bang for buck.

I've just built up a pair of wheels using CM hubs, Pillar bladed spokes and FarSports 29er carbon rims (23mm wide x 23mm deep) in 28/32 hole 3x for 1,421g for the pair.

These are to go on a roadie (Volagi Lisio Gen 2), so a few more spokes isn't an issue for me.

Couldn't get much lower weight without spending big on hubs or going tubular rims.

Cheers

I like the idea of disc brakes with carbon rims for all the reasons covered in this forum. I think a cycle-x bike would benefit as does MTB’s. For a road bike, I’m not ready to slap on more rotating weight and static mass for something that gives back so little in return, at least at this time.

For wet riding and there is alot that in the U.K at the moment discs are win win for us. It not in the constant wet we have we can ride as fast as we want to anyway.

Until you have to brake quickly in the rain.

I found Novatec in online store - other brands are too expensive (DT swiss, Chris King,...)

Disc brakes and carbon clinchers - no limit on descents or rain or anything else
50 or 60mm rim with 24/24 spokes must be enough

After new year Sram and maby Shimano will show more about their disc road systems
I am thinking about mechanic disc brakes too - low cost and work well
