I just recently picked up a pair of giro mountain bike shoes and they are truly amazing. Now I am looking to switch road shoes. Anyone have any experience with these two shoes. Is the main difference just weight and the ratchet buckle or will I be giving up some comfort with prolight over the factor. thanks

I use the Prolight, Factor and Trans and like the Prolight best (surprise, surprise). Straps are still superior to buckles imho. In general, the Giros are fantastic. Full stop.

The Factor and Trans are indistinguishable for me.

Unfortunately all Giros aren't actually durable. :-(

If you have a high instep the Pro SLX may not work. Giro was suppose to change that in 2013 and make the top strap longer. I have been on the Factors for a full season, which is a first.. totally comfortable. I would say the Factors on par with S-Works at 1/2 the price
