Don't get rid of the Shamals… I particularly find them great. If you absolutely prefer to run a Shimano cassette you can purchase the original freehub. It is easier to find in Europe (I bought mine from bike24.net if I am not mistaken)

A friend of mine runs Red22 with both campy and shimano wheels, no problem. I also tested it for a few kms with my Neutrons and Chorus 11 cassettes and again, no problems. I doubt 9000 would be any different.

Hi Jimmy.
I have tryed to use 11 speed Campagnolo hubs/cassettes with Shimano DA 9000/11 speed and it works absolutely fine.
It also works fine the ohter way around from Shimano 11 speed hubs/cassettes on a Campagnolo setup. :D
Conclusion: Finaly they are SRAM/Shimano and Campagnolo 11 speed wheelset options can be used on each others groupsets

Awesome guys! I upped the search effort and how found more tales of success, a couple of mishaps but these were ceratinly in the minority and could be just setup issues. Last night I ordered my new mech DA 11sp, it was pretty "cheap" at £1,160 all in. I've gone for a 52/36 chainset too. I will hit the intro section soon with a build, nothing too fancy (Giant TCR Advanced ISP, replacing Canyon)

9070 Di2 on Campag cassettes here - flawless function.

Just for reference, I run a KMC X11SL chain to good effect on the same setup too.

No. Gold chains are nasty.

I can confirm that this works very well.. I found that there was a small skip in the middle cogs, but the DI2 combo with campy cassette works. I had the gold chain :)

Ive thrown my old Corima 40mm tubs on my TT bike (di2) with a Record cassette, and DA chain and it worked perfectly fine.. no trim adjustments at all...
