I am thinking about swapping my campy 11 lockring with a far and near lockring. I know these are lightweight, any issues with stripping/ durability? is there any reason why adding this lockring would have any effect to my current shifting because of different thickness? Thanks in advance

You mean you just want a lockring in a fancy colour?

No I need to buy a 12t locking for a campy 12-27 cassette I am buying. These cassettes don't come with lock rings so I figured why not.

One would guess that there is very little difference between a Campag alloy lockring and an aftermarket one. Maybe nanograms?

Hi,

Standard Campa lockrings are made of steel. There's also a Ti one available for 12/12T cassettes.
Lockrings should not cause any shifting problems.
Be ware that aluminium ones are just not as durable as steel ones. They are however about 2/3 the weight of a steel one.

Ciao, ;)

Campy 11sp lockrings are aluminum. Their 10speed ones were steel.
Campy 11speed cassettes come with lockrings.
Aluminum lockrings are generally 1/3 the weight of steel ones.
