I have a hi-brite CAAD8 (or whatever they call it) - the clear-coated frame. As bad an idea as clear-coating an aluminum frame is, I think it's the best look on the CAAD's. I, personally, think that a polished frame is too much... although that Cervelo looks sharp. Have you ever ridden with a polished stem? The damn thing blinds you in the sun... I wouldn't want a whole frame too shiny to stand riding.

I also think that the Cervelo is too much.
My goal is a raw finish like of your CAAD8 and like Cannondale used to do for the System6, Six13 etc.

The fork is now uncut so I will save a lot by cutting +- 15cm off.
I don have the finace for a different fork by now since I still have to buy all the other parts.

Nice project. What do you use to remove the paint?

I used just two different types of paintstripper, one for the frame and one for the fork and a razorblade.

And a lot of patience......

Looks like your projection was fairly spot-on. Nice!

Not so much progress on the frame, but I found some brakes to match when finished ;)
