Remove logos from sram red cranks
logos under clear...
If your brave you can sand the arm down with 500 grit, and then follow with 1000 grit to smooth it out. Once your done, spray it with a urethane (minwax sealer works good, you can buy it at home depot) and you should be good to go.

Would look good IMO - please post pictures if you do it.
I run campy record, but not the cranks. I have the stronglight chain rings already to go, I just need to get rid of the logos. I will let you know how the sanding goes and will post pics later. I would like a matte finish I think.
Anyone do this? I'm interested in removing the graphics from my Red cranks. Sounds easy in theory.

How thick is the clearcoat? I would assume pretty thin. Let us know how it goes.
It did not take that long to do. I think I started wet sanding with 400 grit sand paper and finished with extra fine steel wool.
There is a razor blade technique that sounds like it may save lots of time as well.

I did not put a clear coat on it. I did put some car wax on it for the first few months but that was about it. This is on my bad weather bike. So it gets the brunt of the winter riding with lots of road salt.
I don't think the wax or any clear coat is necessary. It still looks the same.
