Can the tradition 5 bolt rings be purchased separately yet so that the fit the S975 crankset without having to rotate the orientation 180 degrees?

yes, I have a set of "standard" YAW rings on my wife's Force crank with the new FD. SRAM calls them "non hidden bolt", in stock at QBP.
