Trying to decide on a groupset for the winter bike and decided I want to use it for climbing too, so want gear ratios to be easier than my main ride (52/36 x 11-28).

Saw a deal on a 105 with 50/34 x 11-25 but not sure if that makes it easier. Maybe about the same on the lowest gear?

36/28 ≈ 34/26.5
34/25 ≈ 36/26.5

Thanks guys, so it's easier but not by a lot. Not enough to justify buying that cassette would you say?

You could just sell the 11-25 cassette that goes with the new groupset and buy a new 11-18 cassette.

It will maybe set you back 20 $.

You are aware, that there are countless gearcharts on the interweb, right?

Just buy a new cassette. A new 105 11-28 cassette is $32 from Merlin.

Cheers, went for the 50/34 11-28 elsewhere. Bit pricier but ultimately cheaper/less hassle than getting a second cassette and eBaying the other.
