Has anyone weighed in Clarks cables against the Jagwires, for instance?

I'm currently attempting to choose between the following:
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/clarks-universa ... cable-kit/

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/jagwire-ripcord ... cable-kit/

Ultimately is there going to be much difference for a single speed build? I'm already over-budget just a tad so am trying to shave the pennies but if weight it a factor I'm probably willing to splash out a bit more.

Cheers,
Tom

The reason not to choose clarks is not weight. A cable of the same diameter and and length of differing brands should weight approximatley same if it all made of SS. The big differeneces are in the outers.

I don't use clarks as they are not stainless enough or at least thats my reasoning. Also I don't think there campag cables have very good ends. I quite like transfils cables and outers. Even there cheap workshop outer packs are teflon lined. Seen reibale too but not the lightest. Campag cables (if you run campag) are the best I have used. so slick.

Hi,

Isn't it Clarks who manufacture Campa's cables?

Ciao, ;)

That would be these then?

I guess they're widely compatible? I was likely going to go with these levers:

EDIT: I just realised that's a crosstop lever. Still, is it valid to use that as a standard lever on a single speed without a drop lever also?

Clarks may manufacture Campag cables but in Campag cables the stainless steel used has more chromium/nickel so it is more stainless/less magnetic than the clarks cables. Also there have been some worryiong failures of the brake cables heads on clarks cables and some issues with their campag cables aand campag shifters.
