10 speed shifter on 9 speed front only

I broke my 9 speed front shifter and have access to a 10 speed front shifter
I only want to replace the front shifter.
Will it work?

Hi,
I can't remember for certain but in any case, a 10S shifter can be changed to 9S by simply replacing a part or two.
These parts can be bought online as a Campagnolo kit.

I dont want to change parts.
These are Shimano.
Will a 10 speed shifter work for the front derailleur on a 9 speed?
figured whether 9 or 10 it still the same movement?
If not i will search for a 9 speed front.

You won't notice the difference. Cage for 10 speed is slightly narrower, but in practice I suspect the 9-speed will rub less.
