i misread the OP, thought this was the other torque wrench topic.
for larger items, like bb cups, crank bolts, etc, i actually prefer a beam-style torque wrench.
reasons:
large items on a bike are rarely hard to get to, so one can always see the scale.
left hand thread compatible.
easy to see it calibrated. if it rests at zero (barring any crazy happenings that seriously bent something and then got bent back), it is calibrated.
cheap.
