How long do you think Shimano will support the current Di2 when the 9000 comes out?

Its hard to say as its their first road electronic groupset. But for previous mechanical groups, they have typically 'supported' for the lifespan of the follow-up generation. As in spares for the 7700 set were not too difficult to source until after the 7900 was launched.

Typically Shimano will support a top end group for at least 3 or 4 years beyond it's replacement. My guess would be with the low production numbers of DA Di2 they'll be on the shorter side of time for support.

Sucks to be you, not enjoying life because something 'newer' might come out soon. :)

Hey Madcow, any plans to reprogram DA 7970 for 11 speed?
