I will weight the arms today. At least they look
Nice as I can't use them without spindle!

interesting that cannondale has abandoned the idea that the steerer needed to be reinforced against clamping forces by a close fitting top cap inside. did steerer get stronger or was the old type top cap unnecessary all these years?

That new compression plug / top cap is still supporting the I.D. of the steer tube. It is being done with the multiple flanges rather than (1) solid tube design.

New arms should work on old spindle

People have suggested that spline is different. That the spindle will fit in crank arms but will have spacing problems.

Hi

Sorry for the SiSL newbie question and slightly OT, but does anyone know if these will work with a (cough) Specialized SL4 OSBB frame?

I had assumed they would, but then I read that some Specialized BB30 frames use a 61mm width (which apparently works with Specialized cranks) instead of 68mm... :?

Thanks in advance.

Cannondale cranks will work in all specialized OSBB frames. Carbon osbb is 61mm wide, but with their cups that hold the bearings, the net width is 68mm.

Splines should be the same. There is no spacing issue if you are using the old spindle you would just install as such, not that you'd have any of the new spacers, etc.

So shoulder side on NDS and wave washer on DS. I seriously doubt it will not work. thisisatest should be able to answer this for you having held the parts.

the arms will fit the old spindle. chainline will be the same as it used to be.
the one very small detail i havent checked yet is to make sure the arm offset is the same as before. i doubt they changed it, but id like to be sure before someone goes out and mounts some on and smacks their chainstays every pedal stroke!

Last I was told it was 60-90 days to get one!!!!

I have an order in at 2 places, so the race is on!! haha

Any idea who makes the new plug? Wondering if I can order it as a "Cannondale" part or directly through the mfg.
