Looks cool, as a weight weenie it's great to see the companies go in this direction. I have to be honest I find the weight a little hard to believe, it's not easy getting that light. But then of course I saw Tufo tyres... I don't really take the weight very seriously when it's weighed with Tufo tyres.

Also what this about the THM fork being the 'only one worldwide, which shows no weaknesses whatsoever regarding rigidity'... I mean, eh? :noidea:

Also Cane Creek AER as stock headset.... :noidea:

But it's rare to see THM Carbones crankset and brakes on stock bikes.

Anybody knows if Stevens has business links with THM ? I remeber seeing Stevens, THM and SRM sharing the same booths at bike shows...

Ditto on the Tufo Eite Jet tires, put some real tires on it. Otherwise nice bike!

And there's still lots of chances to cut weight by changing the entire cockpit and seat post too... wish they release the frame weight.

Nice weight, boring design. Reminds me of some no-name 2005 carbon frames.

It's in the description somewhere on the "normal" Comet. It says they challenge the 800g mark for a size 56 frame (810g). The THM fork is 285g.

Leaving aside the validity of the 5.0 kg claim, and it seems suspect, keep in mind that it includes neither pedals nor bottle cages.

I wonder if their weight claims are like Paul Ryan's marathon time claims. Per http://www.stevensbikes.de/2013/index.p ... lang=en_US , Xentis Squad 2.5 tubular 25 mm wheels are sub 1 kg. Per http://www.xentis.com/wp-content/upload ... Carbon.pdf , XeNTIS Squad 2.5 tubular carbon dark line (006) weighs 1045 g. Does the Stevens bike come with a different and lighter wheel configuration than advertised on XeNTIS' web site? Or perhaps Stevens has borrowed scales and/or weighing technicians from Deda Elementi?

I don't know about the new Comet frame, but I weighed the older SLC Team (BSC BB) frame at the LBS(almost bought it last fall).
It was advertised at 870g if I remember, and on the scale it was 990g with derailler hanger, seat collar, and headset. So I estimate it was pretty close to advertised weight.
Also the Ventoux and Xenon press fit frames were less than 50g over advertised weight, with der. hanger and seat collar.

It's not what's interesting for me.
I won't be excited if some company is releasing a 600g frame, well not before it's put to some serious real world tests. By some unbiased source.
What's to notice is companies take seriously the Weightweenie market, and they target the "less than "X" grams" product.
And more the "exotic" (for me, north american) parts on a stock bike.
I wonder what the MSRP will be for this one...
