I am a huge fan of thomson masterpiece seat posts because of their light weight and outstanding clamp that holds its position and is easy to use. Does anyone have any recommendations of a seatpost where I can drop some weight and not give up clamping ability/ease? thanks

I got my 31.6 Masterpiece down to about 158 gms but cutting off extra length and using Ti bolts. Tough to get much lighter than that.

and you can add aftermarket carbon clamp parts. and dont forget ti barrels and washers to go with those ti bolts.

I just wish they did a 27.0mm version as I have two frames with that post. I have to use the Elite instead.

3T Dorico LTD, mine comes in at 179 and has an easy and firm carbon clamp.

The two posts I can think of are the Bold Precision and the Extralite UL. Though I'm not sure if the Bold Ti posts are still available. Sweet bling of you could get one. I don't have any experiance with either. The extralite designs are always cleverly light.

I have a Ti tuned MP. I can't be happier! I put some serious miles (6yrs!) on mine with a single hiccup.
