All-round clinchers for a grand?

I currently have FFWD F6R clinchers, but I want to get some better all-purpose wheels and with me riding the Tour of Flanders sportive, something that can withstand the pavé. It seems that a lot of pros ride 35-40mm deep rims and these seem great for all-round purposes too. I also slightly prefer the look of deeper section rims. I run Campag by the way. I've got a budget of £1,000 max. Any advice much appreciated. :D

i've just gone for campag bullet ultra 50's.... can be bought nicely under a grand, have a 50mm section and have an alloy braking surface.
