you can buy that stuff already from most yachting and electrical stores. comes in lengths longer than that and for cheaper.

Ridiculous idea.

Thread it onto your bar, thread your cables through it, realise you want to change your tape / move your levers, have to do it all again. AND it looks worse than a bit of tidy taping.

Normal duct tape is so much more practical, functional and aesthetical

How does one get a patent for heat shrink tubing? Special proprietary compound? :roll:

Does no one else use a little spooge of super glue gel for a finishing-tape-less finish??? My bars have stayed tight for 18 months and are now disgusting from drool/sweat/snot but have never unravelled.

i do that but some wraps work better than other with the spooge method.
