I'm in the market for a new saddle since my Selle SLR doesn't fit me well. When climbing at high effort, or when I'm in the drops for extended periods of time, I begin to go numb.

I'd like something similar shaped to the Selle Flite Evolution 3 (carbon shell and very flexy), as I never had problems with it and found it to be a very comfy saddle. I think the width of that saddle is 144mm, but am having trouble confirming.

So, does anyone have a recommendation for something close to that shape that's under 150g or so? Are Tune SN too similar to the SLR in shape that it'd be a bad recommendation? I'd really like to get another full carbon saddle that's sub 100g and pretty flexy, but comfort at this point is most important.

Edit: Also, I wanted to add that when I'm racing, I tend to ride on the nose of the saddle a lot when closing gaps or pulling. Not sure if that's relevant, but figured I might throw that in there.

agree with Marcob. Tune Komm-Vor+. Good shape, good flex and just so good. Not this leatherpart on the nose like Speedneedle has too. Rode a Caad10 with speedneedle today and you feel the ends of the leather and it's not as flexy/comfy as my Komm-Vor+ or even Komm-Vor that I have on my mtb and have ordered for my CX ;)

So, the Komm-Vor is similar to the Selle Flite shape (flat-ish)? So I can get a reference point, do you find any other conventional saddle particularly comfortable?

Also, I remember having a Forte Pro SLX that was very uncomfortable (I think these are shaped after the Selle SLR).

Are Tune Speedneedles shaped similar to the SLR?

Recommending saddles is a thing of its own, but if you like the shape of the Selle Flite Evolution 3, you might also consider the Selle San Marco Aspide. There's a (very expensive) carbon-only version, then one with carbon rails, and a regular one. The Aspide puts a bit more weight on your seat bones, in return the perineum is unburdened nicely by the channel. Try it if you have the chance.

I too am a Flight Evo user. I have yet to find a saddle that works for me as well as that one does. However, I am searching the market now to try and find something. Even the padded/regular Flight doesnt do it. I will be watching this thread with interest and will try and post what I find as well.
I have ridden some Tune saddles (not the speedneedle or kom-vors) and like the flex he builds into them. Might be going the route of the komm-vor + but a little pricey at this point.
Others I am looking into are: Concor Racing Team, SLR TT, and now maybe an Aspide.

I had the same experience with the SLR saddles; switched to San Marco Aspide FX many years ago and have ridden them ever since. The Ti version weighs in @140gr and is reasonably affordabe if that's a concern. Truely an all day saddle for me...

Not yet. I will trying my frist SLR soon but one of the cheaper versions. If I like it that tekno is a good way of shaving off another 75g.

Hi,

That SLR Tekno looks very similar to the old C64.
I just replaced my aging SSM Aspide Composite (Ti rails) for a SI CX Zero and am surprised by how much more comfortable it is, it just seems to absorb road irregulaties much more efficiently.

Keep in mind that the CX Zero's (mine's 80g spot on) no longer produced, you can still buy it from some shops though, so the SLR Tekno seems a very nice alternative.

Ciao, ;)

I had a C64 and it was the best, until I hit a bump in the road and cracked the seating surface. Bought a CX Zero to replace it, I think it is much more harsh and does not absorb bumps as well as the C64. Still, it's not too bad.

The S Works Toupe is light, I didn't get a chance to weigh mine, but all the others I've seen have been sub 120g.
It's a comfortable saddle, but very firm 8)
