Using road bike
What's the consensus on water bottle placement or none.
1.Take cages off and have no bottle
2.bottle on seat tube or bottle on down tube
3. or bottles on both.

haven't done this in a while and have forgotten what is faster.

Depends on the frame tube shapes from what I can gather.

Put narrowest road bars on tt bike with -30 degree stem and off you go.

Uh I'm not convinced changing the geometry just for an event is a good idea (unless you can emulate a TT position you are used to). Aero is great, but you need to get the power down.

I was reading that the method that creates the least amount of drag is zip tying your water bottle between your clip-on bars. I do all my TT's for triathlons with my roadie, but I do not use the zip tie method strictly because it's so damn frustrating to drink on a TT with that setup. I wouldn't change anything regarding bottle position that you are not used to, as trying to get a drink in will probably slow you down as you would have prescribed to a solution that you have never practiced.
