And what exactly do you mean by that?

max weight limit? max crash survivability limit?
max cornering limit?

too many variables at play. cornering depends much on rider skill, tyre choice, road condition, etc.

if you mean if the caad 10 is a race worthy bike, well, yes. if you lose a race, it definitely won't be the caad 10's fault. caads are superb machines.

well i was wondering if anyone was able to use a caad10 and say to themselves " i need something better"

For bang for your buck race worthiness....?? I think nothing is better...

It's basically an aluminum EVO + the EVO is the "greatest bike ever" + aluminum is better than carbon = the CAAD 10 is awesome and whomever owns one shall not want.

they are bad a$$. if you're like me though, you'll always want to try something new.

5.73kg was the limit for mine. 242km on a ride was the limit in length I made on it

No problem to push it down in weight more, 5,2kg including pedals isn't any problem.

Having seen your build list - how would you squeeze another 0.5 kg out of it? It would require the use of multiple uber-expensive parts, no?

For the money, the CAAD10 can't be beat. There are better frames out there for sure, but are you ready to fork out at least 3 to 10 times what a CAAD10 frame costs? That cash could go on a bunch of other upgrades and you'll have a sweeter bike than something you grab off the shelf.

ok currently im in the middle of my caad10 build with sram red! one problem though, it seems that only one arm of the brakes move the other arm move like a few millimeters or so

Ask NASA to take one to space, that should satisfy any remaining doubts you have.

Although you seem to already own one so...


I'm a little lost at what sort of confirmation you're looking for. Fact is, unless you're riding at Cat 1/Pro level you're never likely to ever push a modern frame past what it's been designed to do.

CAAD is an excellent frame, you'll be fine.

adjust your brakes. that should fix the lever problem.

SSB: AX-Lightness stem, bar, brakes, wheels. Tufo 165g tires, lighter crank, Red front derailleur or tuned Record instead of my Rival, light seat like FRM Black hole or a combo like Berk, Lighter pedals as mine are 235g. No problem to save weight. And you can always get a Evo fork, saving around 90g real weight. Around 290g for one I cut at work.

I'm a bit clueless as to what the OP is asking myself. I rode one a couple weeks ago for the first time. I own a Cervelo S2 2012 and I'm actually looking into buying a CAAD10 right now just because the bike is that awesome and I want it in my stable.
