If you could own only one rimbrakebike. Which would it be?

Since many people are moving to discs (not everyone), and big bike has drastically reduced R&D and production of high end rimbrakebikes, which one was the best ever made? Or which one would you have in your garage, if you could pick only one?
  • - sure it's a stupid game
    - please don't make it about disc vs. rims
    - if you don't like the topic, feel free to move on
My pick would be C60:

Probably the Tarmac SL6, the only bike I felt able to compete (and maybe a bit more reactive) with my SuperSix Evo2 that is still the bike I ride the most.

My own C59 in MTBK with SR EPS and Bora Ultra 35. I've got another SR EPS groupset inc a new battery and spare tubs to keep it going for a long time.

Polished silver hidden bolt D-skeleton. Only realized after making my decision that you were asking for the bike, not for the brake 😂

TCR SL (2021)
Cervelo S3 (2019)

I'm in the process of building both of these beauties up - TCR with SRAM Red AXS and S3 with DA9100 mechanical.
To me, these are two of the finest rim brake bikes ever made, and I will be doing my best to keep both going for a long time.

A nod also to the Tarmac SL6 - I had one in the past and it was a superb bike.

My S-Works Tarmac SL6 I had a few years ago. Dura-Ace Di2 9150, Enve 4.5s (gen2) and some Extralite parts. 40cm aero handlebar. Superb bike! Stiff, comfortable and so much fun to ride. Quite aero aswell with the right components and fit. Was a walk in the park to do maintenance on it as only the seatpost was proprietary. I'm still not sure why I sold it :cry:

I'm actually looking to pick up a SL6 again or a SuperSix Evo2 to see what it's all about as I have not tried one. I have DA 9100 brake calipers for the SS Evo2 here somewhere, just need the rest of the bike :mrgreen:

I really can't choose between my De Rosa SK and TCR Advanced SL. The TCR shades it on weight and agility, and is the perfect climbing bike, but the SK wins on looks and outright speed. Both are great fun to ride and keepers for sure.

If the right C64 comes along some day for the right price, I'll upgrade my C59. I'm partial to PJUS.

There are tons of good options. For me it would be the Izalco Max if I could only have one.

For single mount brakes:
RCA, Izalco Focus Max, or SuperSix

For direct mount brakes:
SL6 for performance & weight C64 for looks.

This was great;

But the clear coat on the frame started to perish so I dismantled it and came across a dream frame in my size on eBay;

More planted, comfortable and at least as responsive at 6.6kg. The only things that’ll stop me enjoying it are theft or my sciatica 🫠
