They are Ultimate Ceramic Bearings, ti. Both Balls and races are ceramic. Last time I looked I think they were £180 each. Don't think running DA or Red that you are riding the same as the pro's. Bertie put new carbon hangers on his rear derailleur and the aforementioned U.C.B instead of the black box ceramics of Sram, when he won the '09 tour. They do the same with the c/set bearings and of course the wheels.

They look like Cearmic Speed Titanium pulleys wheels http://shop.ceramicspeed.com/products/1 ... speed.aspx

Define affordable- full ceramic bearings cost a hell of a lot (no matter what the quality)

I forget, but there was an article about a year ago maybe showing that Cancellera used some small guys parts, like those pulleys, European source, forget the company/guy's name.
Maybe that ceramic speed link above is the guy.
Drawing a blank!!! Sorry.
Think I found it, he tried these BBs and pulleys I think for awhile.

They are stupid expensive, like $450 for the BB or something ridiculous I recall. $180 for the pulleys.

I think your shop may have padded the cost a bit.....http://www.totalcycling.com/a-z/deraill ... RD_11.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And Ribble lists them for 23 british pounds but they are currently out of stock.

Hey Twigs - nice contribution to the subject yourself.....BTW my teenager says Really? way too much - first time I've seen it used here on WW though.
Whats the point of Ti pulleys?............The OP said "wow those are seriously expensive"......and then later said "they seem to be excessively priced"......another poster brought up Campy ceramics and how he apparantly got taken by being charged a whopping price. What those sorts of posts suggested to me is let's offer correct information about a less expensive recommendation ...and they can be much quieter than bling, bling Ti.
