Considering a Dogma 2 build, had a weight and seatpost Q
Hi all,
So, I was thinking of getting a Dogma 2, now that they had dropped in price.
1) what is the weight of the frame? Can I expect a weight of sub 1000g for a size 53 or 54?
2) what are the post options? 25mm setback is too much, I need something between 0 and 20, as I run a 6.7cm of setback on my saddle, at a height of 75.3cm from the BB.
Thanks!

1) Not a chance, from the posted weights I have seen.
2) I think you are stuck with the stock "aero" seatpost due to its shape.

1) See above
2) only hope is custom...

Weight of frame, likely at the very least 1200 grams

on the post thing, although it has a decent amount of offset, there's a good amount of room to slide the saddle fore/aft. if you need it more forward, im sure a little "customizing" of the upper cradle can fix that.
...and no way itll be 1kg. on top of that, the fork is a pig.

OK, thanks. Sounds like a heavy bike....I will probably pass. The SuperSix EVO I saw on the scale the other day was 760g in gloss black (complete frame, including seatpost collar ect), 310g for the fork and crown race. I might go that route instead. The Dogma looks sexy, though; it is hard to justify spending more to get a frame that probably weighs a good 500g more, plus the seatpost issue.
If the Dogma 2 is so heavy, why are they so darn expensive? Does the ride quality and stiffness more than offset the heavy weight? I think my old Fondriest that I bought back in 2004 weighed less than that.....
Thanks for the input though!

I wouldn't rule out a frame based solely on weight.
The dogma will more than likely ride a lot better than some 800gram frame.
Pinarello get a lot of stick about the weight of their frames on here - but do you think they design the Dogma to 1200/1300g because they are not capable of designing something lighter - I doubt it.

Pinarello were going to make the Dogma2 sub 1000g, but they went to the bar to have a cafe instead.

Frames don't win races, riders do.

That's why I'm not concerned about a little extra weight.
Got you
