Hi all,

I pulled my chain off to clean it the other day and at the same time i cleaned my RD. I noticed that there's quite a lot of play in the upper jockey wheel. It can move about 2-3mm from side to side. I've never removed the jockey wheels on the RD so they're as they come from Shimano.
The lower jockey wheel has no play what so ever.

I don't remember my 7800 RD or my Sram Red RD ever having any side play in the jockey wheels at all.

Can anyone confirm that the play i have in the upper jockey wheel is normal or not?

thanks.

It's normal. Upper Shimano pulleys have side to side play.
