hI,

Is it possible that the new centaur cassettes and chains just don't mate up perfectly with the record 10 speed stuff?

Not to my knowledge.

Good luck, ;)

Ive seen instances where Centaur Carbon 10 shifters will not work happily on UD cassettes in the middle range (yes- mech alignment was spot on, new cables, new chain, new mech + another shifter). All on a new bike.
Older versions or a non gen cassette fixed it.

I run veloce/ centaur/ record and BBB cassettes all with no problems on my Record 10 or on other bikes with very much mix and match components.
Record 10 ultra chains are in my experience the best so i cant see that being your problem (9spd's another matter)
