Does someone know how the Sram red black brakes are finished?
Are they anodised or painted and how could you remove the white lettering?
I could find this for derailleurs and shifters, but not the brakes…

I've accidentally taken the labeling off of my SRAM Rival brake levers over the years with brake cleaner...

I don't know if this will help~

If the brakes are anodized, than there is a big chance that the lettering are just painted on. Then some simple paint remover will do the job.
But if the black part is also painted, then paint remover would screw up the whole thing...

I know on my black Rival rear derailleur, the lettering wipes off with acetone, no problem.

I think they use a black paint, maybe a baked method. Then the letters are just painted on top of the finish. I assume some acetone would take it right off. Never tried this though, but know it took the lettering off some handlerbars using this method accidentally!

They are definitely not anodized finished. SRAM finishes their black series in a gloss black paint, maybe with some type of clear coat. Whether the lettering is over/under that coating, don't know. I would think it would match the FD/RD, which I have, and that is how they are finished. I run Force brakes, so can't say about the brakes specifically.

I know, not really helpful.
