... Hello, I have just bought a BMC SLR01 frame set, minus the headset. Little did I know that the headset is almost bespoke to the frame & forks. Can anyone point me in the direction of the correct size and specification? I have tried the obvious by contacting BMC, alas no reply! I've also tried Evans Cycles who import BMC to the UK, again no good!

If anyone has one they would like to sell I'd be the happiest man alive!

I don't know too much about headset specs, but I know that the upper is 1 1/8", lower is 1 1/4", standard 45 degree bearings.

Here's a pic of the bearings with some codes on them that came with mine.


Hopefully you can decipher the codes on the bearings to figure it out.

Yes, crown race on the fork directly, then lower bearing over it.
