I got a set back around January. I was very impressed with the wheels. I put around 2000 miles on them before I had a failure on the rear wheel. You know the area where the spoke and nipple attaches to the wheel - that area literally "pulled up" and created two open cracks on both sides of the rim. You could literally see the inside of the rim and the bottom of the nipple. I weight about 170lbs and have been training in the mountains most of the spring.

Luckily I noticed it at the house with the bike on the stand and didn't have a failure coming down a mountain.

I sent both the front and back to American Classic for replacement or repair. They basically sold all of their stock and kept no replacement parts. They could not fix my wheel or replace it. They offered to refund my money so that is the route I took.

I have sent wheels back to Mavic, Easton, etc and have always had good luck getting a replacement or getting a repair to my wheels - not so with American Classic. I did not have to fight to get my money back so thanks go out to them for that, however, I really wanted a good set of wheels.

Buyer beware..

On a side note, I really, really wanted to try the 2012 Mag Clinchers out. They are pretty much vapor ware. I have called a couple of times a month for the past year and am on their "list" waiting to get them. They don't have them and have no idea if and when they will ever have them for sale. Very frustrating.
