Hello everyone!

I have been informed that this is THE forum where peopla can tell me more about the manufacturer of my bike.

I know the frane is about 1.2Kgs and the while thing is light bit can anyone tell me if they are made any more?

I dont think FRM is still making alloy frames.
but I guess you can easily find custom alloy frames made with Easton tubing.

That is interesting as there is a label on the bike that contradicts what is on the made in italy label.

I have added this label as well.

There was a number of things of it before I got it. Namely where the handle bars are tightened for hight there is a cap wth the words "ALPINA" on it.

And it has Tektro brakes. Neither of which I have ever heard of. Are these parts any good?

the Easton label is for the aluminum tubing, which is made in USA.
the FRM label is for the frame, which is welded in Italy.

Alpina and Tektro are both mid-range value brands. Both are fine.

If the bike you have bought fits you well, and is properly adjusted and parts are not worn out, then there is no real need to change anything. For instance Miguel Indurain and Bijarne Riis won the tour on bikes quite similar to yours. Yes some of the bikes on this site costing USD 10,000+ are nicer, but they will not make you much faster. I would just ride it a lot until things wear out, then replace them with parts you like and can afford.

I also hace double sided SPDs on it as I did not want to keep flipping the pedals around, and linked them to some gossamer FSD's which work very very well.

the gears though are a bit of a mix!

I have 105 flight decks with Dura-ace guide and then 105 deralier! Works really well and I used to get 30MP out of it!

An FRM frame, I dabbled with buying one about 12 years ago
FRM are an Italian company that produced some excellent WW parts.
I built an original DeRosa Merak with lots of FRM kit - carbon seatpost (155g), wheelset, stem bottom bracket and headset
All of this is still in action today
My iimpression of FRM is of a pioneering company producing good quality, innovative and very light components
I would imagine that the frame is excellent

FRM did indeed make very high end, WW type frames a decade or so ago, and, as others have indicated, is known for its WW components.

Not as much today, but it was once in the "esoteric" category of light weight, very trick, unobtanium components...

Very true!

The bike in its current state is light even though it could be a lot lighter.

I too have a carbon seat post and even have a set of Issac carbon forks in it!

Was tempted to take the fulcrum evolution racing 5's off and bung a set of tri spokes on!

Sadly ill health has put pay to that side of things!

I love the down tube on the frame though. Its shaped like an aeroplane wing! Along with the seat post and rear!

Got loads of photos if anyone wants more?
