I just bought on of the Antares Cervelo team edition saddle and bar tape sets on ebay. Like this:

The tape is funny, half is like synthetic leather, half is very glossy plastic.

Which half goes where? Im thinking that the 'leather' bit goes on the drops, but am not sure!

It's just tape, put it on the way you want to, simple

Makes more sense to have the glossy up top, since that is the part that gets more wear and handling.

I would think it would be better the other way round so the shiny bit lasts longer .

I'd go glossy on the drops, matt up top. It's just a personal preference on the aesthetics, keeping the glossy for the sides of the bike and the matt for the middle (following on from the saddle).

I put glossy on the drops and matt on the top. The glossy stuff is very slippery in the wet.

Wouldn't it be more precarious to have slippery grip in the drops vs. the tops?

unroll the tape
which is the shortest smooth of textured?
the longest section is supposed to cover the drops.

The smooth section probably only consitutes 25% of the total length. This was my logic too but wanted to ask anyway.

Thanks for everyones thoughts.

I have always loved the Antares saddle....just a shame my Arse doesn't share the same passion! :-)
