I have reached the end of my patientce with this company, I spoke to Axel in September 2002 about getting a Comibination saddle and post made up. I sent him my combination of my bike for him to measure. So this dissapeared for 6 months. Finally he sent this back after I called him several times. He changed my cheque for 530Euro in March 2003 and till date no PRODUCT.

When I call him he says that he sent it, and sounds quite anoyed, but will not get back to me. All I am asking is that he checks to see what the hell happened so that we can have a look. First of all when I asked him last year he said that the combination went to a German Cycling magazine for review(not that I gave my approval or was even consulted about this)

All I really want now is my money back, I will take my bussiness to TUNE and he can take his so called technically superior saddles and stick them where they belong

thats weird....I broke an AX saddle and sent it back to Axel and he sent me a replacement saddle at no charge to me to the USA in 3 weeks....he also paid the shipping. I gues I got lucky

That's very interesting since that's the same thing I was told when I ordered an Endurance Comfortline a couple years ago - the delay was because the one he had made went to Tour for review. I did finally get it a couple months later and love it, but the wait was very frustrating.

This is what I sent to AX lets see what happens

To Whom It May Concern:

I have called several times and have spoken to Axel on more than three occasions, yet still I have not received any information with regards to my order. I sent in my combination (Flite evolution 2 on USE bladed seatpost) in September 2002 although I have received this back I have not received the product that Ax-lightness was supposed to make for me. The 500 Euro cheques was cashed in March 2003 and every time I enquire as to where my new combination is all I get told is that it was sent.

This is not acceptable as I have received nothing and paid for this product. This is in breach of European law. It is your duty to try and track down what happened to my order if it does not get delivered, yet I have received no assistance or information with my enquiries. I am not interested in AX products anymore and I want my money back. I will resend this email everyday for a week, and if I do not get a satisfactory response I will seek legal advice.

I sent my combination about one year ago, no money, only my combination, but I have not received back my combo.
I write to Axel more time, but he has still today my combination.......

I dont know!!

When it comes to expensive carbon parts, unfortunately it is a sad fact that you will run into some of this. This is why ever since I have been considering a carbon frame I will only do business with an american company. Sometimes piece of mind is more important than weight savings and plenty of aggravation. I wonder why Calfee does business with this guy?

It seems that we have come to a positive conlusion on this matter. Axel has agreed to refund me my money. Now I will just have to wait and see when this happens.

As for the post mentioning specialist carbon parts. I know what you mean and it is always a risk, but when you see something like the products that AX make it seems worth it. I am sure that most of the people that own his products are quite happy with them.

The problem lies in the fact that people like Axel are very good at what they do, just it is hard to get a business up and running and making the product yourself. He has done well and I wish him the best off luck as I think personally it must have been quite a challenge for him.

As for my comments from the outset I have to apologize for the stick the saddle where it belongs remark, heat of the moment unconstructive remark
