The size of the holes on the carbon spider is 8mm and expensive Specialized chainring bolts are needed. Anyone tried Campagnolo bolts? These also have 8mm holes on the spider. http://www.cambriabike.com/images/produ ... P23295.JPG

OK to prove Tropicalstorm's experience was no accident I had the same issue today.

Got out of the saddle, went for the power and next thing I know the crank has completely cracked - fortunately only grazed knees but could have been a lot worse.
