Bike frames sub 900g
Moderator: robbosmans
Pardon my newbiness, but I was wondering if there was a thread discussing highend frames. I apologize in advance if something like this has already been discussed. I'm always interested in the newest and latest, preferably from European brands, in search of that perfect all around bike that may not exist. I've ridden a Look 695, Wilier Cento SL, Storck Fenomalist, BMC SLR01, Cervelo S3, Wilier Cento, Wilier GT. So far I really like the Wilier, but there seem to be so many other great bikes out there that I've never tried like BH Ultra Light, Pinarello Dogma (not so light, but a lot of cache), Orbea Orca, Bianchi Oltre, Ridley FB and of course the wilier 0.7. Curious to know other people's take. Thanks.

I'd rather ride and race my Caad-10 which can be sub 14.5 over any of the names that you mentioned.
But then again...you probably drive a Ferrari and I don't.

Just get a stock EVO Red, 52cm was 14.2 with garbage parts(stem, HB, SP, seat, ect.) Most shops will sell you one for around $4700, alot yes but now you got a dumb light frame/fork to build upoun.

with a SuperSIX Evo it's easy. I have a Caad10 at 6,73kg and still have some weight to shave of, using a Rival front derailleur for example.

Unfortunately, not much of a trek specialized cannondale fan. Probably because I grew up with those brands, so I think of them as "done that" even though the products have completely evolved. Probably the same reason I dont drive American (and that may get me into trouble).

While I agree losing 2 lbs is worth thousands, the marginal difference to me after a certain point is diminishing. So for instance spending the money on carbon chainrings and other exotic bits and pieces is less worth it to me. I personally would rather try as many bikes as possible and get a flavor of how it rides.
