Velocite Selene Frame Question

I am interested in getting the frame, but how do I tell which frame is for me, I am thinking either the S or the M. But don't know, there is no way of knowing the stand over height in the Velocite website.

I am 5'9" standover height is about 29.5 to 30"

Can someone who has one let me know.

Thank You

After looking at the frame geometry, I think the Medium size would probably be a better choice. I am certainly not a fit expert, but the medium frame has an effective top tube length of 54cm which seems appropriate for a person who is 5'9". You might compare some of the measurements on website to your current bike to get an idea of how it will differ.

I will mention that I own a Geos (I'm 5'8 and ride a medium frame) and have been very happy with it.

If you are fitting bikes by the stand over height I'd hate to see what you are riding.

Assuming you have a good bike fit (done by a pro) determine what the geometry is of your current bike, and then see which is the best match. If you don't know how 10mm difference in head head tube or half a deg of seat tube will mean- then ask.

But no way have you given enough info for someone on a forum to predict which you should buy.

Bike fit calculator - http://www.competitivecyclist.com/za/CC ... ATOR_INTRO

Measure yourself as recommended here and run the numbers through the fit calculator. It gives numbers for 3 different types of fit. Compare the recommended dimensions with your current bike to get an idea of the implications of the recommendations.

Selene ST is 520mm for S and 560mm for M frame
but TT is 528mm for S and 540mm for M frame

so which one should i get? seems I am in between both sizes.

Please forget about seat tube, it's irrelevant. That competitive cyclist computer fitter suggests a minimum TOP TUBE of 54.7cm for you. That Small frame has only a 52.8cm TOP TUBE. I know women shorter than 5'7" that ride longer bikes than that. If we go off of the information you have given us so far, the Medium frame is the only one that makes any reasonable sense.

Sorry about the delay.

Standover heights:

Size S: 74cm
Size M: 77cm

I hope this helps.

Im only 5'8 and I rode the medium frame. I had hardly any seatpost showing, and a 120mm stem. The frame is awesome. Part of my top 3 favorite bikes of all time.
