Post subject: Decal / Clearcoat removal

Hi,

Was wondering which process I'd have to go through to remove a set of decals on my toptube ?
It's on a Z3 under a clearcoat. If I sanded it off & resprayed (no experience) would the new clear look funky ?

Think the chemicals would be a better chance ?
