Lateral play in Novatec A291SB hub

It's barely half a mm. It comes along with a little "peng" sound (from the spokes), when you push on the end caps from side to side.

Anyone had similar experiences ? How did you solve the problem ?
Already screwed the end caps to max tension. Not the problem.

The "peng" is probably just the bearings moving over a wear ridge within the shallow groove. Replace the cartridge bearings and all will most likely be well. They are built with (nice) EZO bearings originally and usually spin pretty well. Other alternative is the bearing is moving over the axle or within the hub body (both unlikely). How many K's has it done Louis?

It's done zero k's???
errrr....is it with the QR tightened up and in the bike? (the compression may finish the tightening job).

Yes.

My 200 lbs football linebacker cousin noticed it after 50 meters (out of the saddle effort "en danseuse") when I installed the BN wheelset I built for him on his bike.
