I have a question regarding the durability of the cassette body bearings of the DT swiss 240 road hubs.

I have some info that in 2010 they were using the very narrow 6702 bearings in the cassette body (6902s in the hub)
But in the Fairwheel hub review from feb 2010 (time for an update??) they are quoted as using 6802s in the cassette body.

Did DT change during 2010 to the 6702s? If so can anybody comment on how the bearing durability went with the smaller bearings.

240s rear hubs always had 6802 in the freewheel, and 6902 in the shell.
6702 are used in the Shimano 10s freewheel of the DT190. Not sure it is the same for the new DT180. I didn't think about checking it.
In general, DT Swiss bearings are very good. We have wheels used for more than 20.000km and the bearings still spin extremely well. They even hold very well for MTB under very dirty conditions.
On the other hand, the only few negative feedback I got was from the 6702 of the Shimano DT190.

OK well that solves that-I was considering using 6703 in the hubs I'm developing to try and save some extra grams. Strength difference of 6702 and 6703 is very little. I'll stick to 6803s which are very common in cassette bodies.

I have done 60.000km on my org DT240 hubs. Just had to replace left rear bearing after 3 years. Still going strong! I love DT hubs!!
