Hi,

I'm springing for a custom frame and was wondering whether I should go for a tapered fork and 44mm headtube, it noticably better?

It will add a touch more weight and cost (also wont look as good on this frame), I am currently riding a Parlee with a standard steered.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks

What material? Ti? What type of bike? Road? Even with a 44mm, you'll have to use an external cup for the bottom on a 1.5" fork. I doubt it would make much of a difference in feel over a standard 1 1/8" fork. Though I went with a 44mm HT for a CX disc fork since there weren't that many options for carbon disc forks. The HT is pretty huge, some people don't like the look especially with a CK headset since the transition is so abrupt.
