Does anyone know what size/model battery the hub needs? I believe it takes two of them.

From the Cycleops site:

Use #357/303 or EPX76 Silver Oxide (IEC-SR44) type batteries and always replace batteries in pairs. Alkaline type batteries give shorter life and poorer performance.
